Master the Technique. Control the Ball. Own the Game.

F4C Winter Futsal Mastery is a comprehensive indoor player-development program for beginners, competitive travel players, elite athletes, and high school players. Conveniently located at One Loudoun in the heart of Loudoun County, Virginia, the program allows players to continue developing their technique, confidence, creativity, and understanding of the game throughout the winter season.

F4C Soccer has served children and families in Loudoun County since 2003. Our winter program combines professional playing experience, proven youth-development principles, and age-appropriate instruction in a positive but demanding training environment.

Program dates: November 16, 2026 – February 28, 2027  |  Location: One Loudoun, Ashburn, Virginia

The 30% Early Bird registration period ended on September 30. Winter registration remains available at regular pricing, subject to space.

Why Futsal

Futsal is one of the most effective environments for developing confident and technically capable soccer players. Played on a smooth, fast surface in a smaller space than a traditional soccer field, futsal requires players to think and react quickly. Pressure arrives sooner, the ball moves faster, and players must learn to receive, control, protect, and release the ball efficiently.

The smaller playing area creates frequent opportunities for close ball control, one-versus-one play, quick combinations, finishing, transitions, and decision-making. Players cannot depend only on speed or open space. They must learn when to accelerate, when to pass, when to protect the ball, and when to pause and allow the play to develop.

These abilities transfer directly to outdoor soccer. A player who becomes composed in futsal’s tight spaces and fast environment is better prepared to solve problems on turf or grass.

Development for Every Type of Player

F4C welcomes players at different stages of development. A child touching a soccer ball for the first time requires a different environment from an experienced travel or elite player. Our coaches adjust the instruction, speed, pressure, and complexity of each session according to the players’ ages, experience, confidence, and developmental needs.

Beginners receive clear demonstrations, repetition, encouragement, and opportunities to build confidence without being afraid of mistakes. Experienced and elite players are challenged to execute at game speed, make decisions under pressure, communicate, compete, and understand the tactical purpose behind their actions.

Training Groups

  • Little Strikers — Ages 3–4
    • Little Strikers introduces our youngest players to the ball through movement, discovery, and age-appropriate instruction. Children learn to stop the ball with the sole of the foot, dribble into available space, change direction, balance while moving, and use different parts of their feet. Sessions also support coordination, listening, confidence, spatial awareness, and positive participation in a group. The priority is to create a strong and enjoyable first experience from which a genuine love for the game can grow.
    • Saturday, 9:00–9:45 AM
  • Juniors — Ages 5–8
    • The Juniors group develops the foundational technical habits players need as they move into more structured soccer. Training emphasizes ball mastery, dribbling, turns, changes of direction, short passing, receiving, finishing, and the use of both feet. Players also begin learning to look up, identify space, cooperate with teammates, and make simple decisions before pressure arrives.
    • Tuesday and Friday, 5:00–6:00 PM
  • Cadets — Ages 9–11
    • Cadets progress from learning individual techniques to applying them in realistic game situations. Players work on first touch, receiving under pressure, one-versus-one attacking and defending, combination play, finishing, movement after passing, and transitions. Futsal teaches players that speed of play is not only running faster; it is seeing the situation earlier and choosing the correct action more quickly.
    • Monday and Thursday, 6:00–7:00 PM
  • Masters Advanced — Ages 9–12
    • Masters Advanced is designed for players ready for a more demanding technical and tactical environment. Sessions may include directional first touches, weak-foot development, quick passing combinations, support angles, attacking overloads, pressing, rotations, transition play, and finishing in limited space. Players are encouraged to become independent problem-solvers who can recognize situations, communicate, and adapt.
    • Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, 5:00–6:00 PM
  • Aurora Girls — Girls Only, Ages 12–16
    • Aurora gives female players a supportive, focused, and competitive environment built around the same high technical standards used throughout the F4C program. Players develop ball control, one-versus-one ability, passing, receiving, finishing, communication, movement, and tactical awareness. The program welcomes developing players and experienced competitors.
    • Tuesday and Friday, 6:00–7:00 PM
  • Titans — Ages 9–15
    • Titans provides advanced development for competitive players preparing for higher levels of club, academy, tournament, and school soccer. Players are expected to demonstrate focus, coachability, and a willingness to compete. Sessions challenge them to maintain control under pressure, combine in tight spaces, break defensive lines, counterattack quickly, and react immediately when possession changes.
    • Tuesday and Thursday, 7:00–8:00 PM; Wednesday, 6:00–7:00 PM
  • High School — Ages 14–18
    • The High School program prepares players for a faster, stronger, and more tactically demanding environment. Training focuses on game-speed execution, first-touch quality, scanning, rapid combinations, possession under pressure, finishing, pressing, transitions, movement, and communication. It is appropriate for players preparing for school tryouts, maintaining sharpness between seasons, competing in travel soccer, or pursuing opportunities beyond high school.
    • Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 7:00–8:00 PM

Meet the F4C Winter Coaching Team

The Winter Futsal Mastery program will operate under the direction of Coach Carlos Vera, with Coach Mentesenote “Mentu” Adane and Coach Liam contributing professional playing experience and specialized player-development knowledge.

Coach Carlos Vera — Founder, Director and Winter Program Lead

Coach Carlos Vera is the founder and director of F4C Soccer and will oversee the Winter Futsal Mastery program. He is a U.S. Soccer Youth Development–certified coach, holds a National Youth License, and has completed FIFA coaching certification and education.

With more than 25 years of player-development experience, Coach Vera has trained more than 2,750 young athletes in Loudoun County. Since founding F4C Soccer in 2003, he has worked with first-time players, travel athletes, elite competitors, and players preparing for high school and advanced competition.

His philosophy centers on technical development, creativity, confidence, discipline, and helping players understand the game rather than simply follow instructions.

Coach Mentesenote “Mentu” Adane — Former Professional and Ethiopian International

Coach Mentesenote “Mentu” Adane brings 17 years of professional playing experience and international-level knowledge to F4C. He developed through his club’s youth system before earning his place with the professional first team and later representing the Ethiopian national team.

His journey from youth development to professional and international soccer gives him a practical understanding of what players must learn at each stage. He knows the technical ability, discipline, resilience, tactical awareness, and consistency required to progress from a young prospect to a professional player.

Coach Mentu specializes in advanced and elite development and will play an important role in preparing F4C’s Titans and high school athletes this winter.

Coach Liam — European Professional Playing Experience

Coach Liam’s connection to F4C began when he started training with Coach Vera at seven years old. After progressing through his development, Liam went on to play professionally in Portugal. His journey from a young F4C player to the European game demonstrates the long-term development pathway F4C seeks to create.

Coach Liam brings current, game-relevant experience to the winter program. His coaching emphasizes attacking ability, foot skills, confidence, creativity, intelligent movement, and the technical details players need to perform at a faster level.

Professional Experience and Local Commitment

The F4C staff combines long-term youth-development leadership in Loudoun County, a 17-year professional career with international experience, and the perspective of an F4C-trained player who progressed to professional soccer in Portugal. Together, the coaches can relate to players at every stage, from a Little Striker learning to control the ball to an elite or high school athlete pursuing the next competitive level.

Develop During the Winter. Return Stronger.

Winter is an opportunity to make meaningful progress. Structured futsal training can help players develop quicker feet, a more dependable first touch, greater confidence in possession, faster decision-making, and a deeper understanding of the game.

Whether a child is touching the ball for the first time, building a stronger technical foundation, competing at an elite level, or preparing for high school soccer, F4C Winter Futsal Mastery provides an appropriate pathway for continued growth.
